Important duration update: For policies sold or issued on or after Sept 1, 2024, federal rules limit Short-Term Limited-Duration Insurance (STLDI) to an initial term of no more than 3 months and a maximum total duration of 4 months including any renewals or extensions. Historically, some short-term offerings were available for longer periods; current availability and term lengths depend on state rules and carrier filings.
